Order of Events:

Registration is closed, the contest is underway. Teams with questions, contact us at lostweekend@socalfilm.com or use the number provided in your packet. Please include "Lost Weekend" in email subject lines.

Detailed "Rules and Parameters" will be provided at the Launch, on Friday March 24th at 8pm at the Silverlake Film Festival “Cinema Lounge”, located in the Arclight Cinema Complex on Sunset Blvd. You will need to use the public parking lot for the Arclight and look for the Cinema Lounge next to the culinary school.

Completed films are due Sunday March 26th at 8 PM at the "Cinema Lounge" at the Arclight.

Screening party will be Tuesday March 28th at 9:30 PM

Prizes! Prizes! Prizes!

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, (as determined by the SoCal Film Group judges) and an Audience Choice Award

Prizes include:
- Software from Final Draft
- Free encoding and hosting of winners to promote your short on the web from Nuvay Web Services
- Sets of 10 free script copies from Scriptcopier.com
- 6 DVD seminar on film blocking and staging from Hollywood Camera Work

Fees:

Entry fee is $20 (includes 4 screening party tickets)

How we keep everyone honest and on their toes:

Storylines will be "inspired" by a headline from this weeks LA Weekly to ensure the film is a current work.

Prominent use of a CANDLE as an honesty talisman. Each film must feature at least one shot with a candle involved with the action of the film (no inserts).

Filmmakers will be assigned GENRE randomly - Drama, Comedy, Western, Horror, etc.

Filmmakers must assemble their own cast, crews, and equipment prior to the contest - these will not be provided or arranged for by the SoCal Film Group or the Silverlake Film Festival.
